Volunteer Uganda,

A Story To Tell...

"What Volunteer Uganda has achieved over the last 10 years is exceptional, but we can still do so much more."

John Rutherford, Director

Where do we work?

We work in rural southwest Uganda where families live in real poverty. Fertility rate exceeds 8 children per woman and over 90% of the population live on less than 1 dollar a day. Find out more about where we work.

Who are our supporters?

We have over a 1000 supporters from all over the world; hundreds have been actively involved in our work. We have recruited over 300 volunteers who have taught in over 30 schools, and trained over 500 local teachers.

What have we achieved so far?

We have built and run four Primary schools, a High school and a College. We have hosted hundreds of volunteers and have developed successful partnerships with Arsenal Football Club and UK-based charity Teach First.

Where do you fit in?

Volunteer Uganda is making good education a reality for over 2,000 young people for whom it would otherwise have remained an impossible dream. If you are interested in being part of our story, visit the volunteer projects page.
