Who can apply?

Applicants to the main programme must be. 

  • 18+ years at date of travel.

  • Have A-level or equivalent qualifications.

  • Be medically fit to travel.

  • The other programs state who canapply for them. 

 

Is VU Competitive? 

VU is not competitive it is selective. If you meet the above criteria and are enthusiastic to make a difference you will be accepted and allocated a place. Our programs are typically oversubscribed so it is important to apply early.

 

What happens after I apply? 

We aim to be in touch within 3 working days. Once you have been accepted onto a programme you have to pay a deposit of £200 to secure your place. This goes towards your program cost. 

 

When will i have to settle up by? 

You have to pay your final balance 1 month before traveling. We are sometimes able to be flexible on this.

 

Can I apply with a friend? 

If you recruit a friend you get £100 off each. We can arrange that you are placed in the same school with them and you will live with them at the lodge.

 

 

 

Why do I  have to pay? 

Volunteer Uganda does not charge you to volunteer. All the money you pay is spent on running the trip, on developing volunteering facilities and on the Volunteer Uganda charitable projects.

What does my payment cover? 

Your payment goes towards the cost of providing effective training, ongoing mentoring  It covers all food, accommodation and local transport. We employ a growing team in Uganda including teaching mentors, catering staff and experienced drivers.
